Stage one
Reading & response
Each submission is read by an acquisitions editor. You receive a decision — and, where we can, a note explaining it — within 8 to 12 weeks.
Our story
Montavellum Publishing Inc. exists for a simple reason: good books deserve patient people. We keep our list small so that every title receives real editorial attention, real design work, and a real plan for reaching readers.
What we believe
We believe great books strengthen communities and deepen understanding. That belief shapes how we choose manuscripts, how we edit them, and how we talk to the people who write them.
Our authors work directly with the people making decisions about their book. There are no anonymous hand-offs and no surprises in the schedule — just a clear plan, agreed together, and followed through.
We publish across literary and contemporary fiction, mystery, historical fiction, memoir, poetry, and selected practical nonfiction.
How a Montavellum book is made
Every project follows the same path, and every author knows where they are on it.
Stage one
Each submission is read by an acquisitions editor. You receive a decision — and, where we can, a note explaining it — within 8 to 12 weeks.
Stage two
We discuss the vision for the book, the schedule, and the terms in plain language before anything is signed.
Stage three
Structure, pacing, and voice. This is the longest stage and the one that changes a book the most.
Stage four
Line-level editing runs alongside cover and interior design, followed by two proofing passes.
Stage five
Advance copies, retail and library listings, launch support, and a long tail of continued promotion.

Clear communication, collaborative decisions, and respect for your creative vision at every stage.
Thoughtful developmental, copy, and proof editing shaped around the needs of each manuscript.
